For Immediate Release:Barbara Popoli Named Business Leader of Alerton-Novar Dealer ChannelsRedmond, WA (September 14, 2005)—Building automation pioneer Alerton (www.alerton.com) and Novar Controls (http://ntc.novarcontrols.com) today welcomed Barbara Popoli as business leader for their respective dealer channels. Popoli’s most recent assignment was in the United Kingdom as site leader and general manager for Honeywell’s Aircraft Landing Systems Global Repair and Overhaul. Prior to this, she was operations director for the company’s Air Transport, Airline and Avionic Products based in Redmond. Honeywell acquired Alerton and Novar Controls when it purchased Novar plc in April 2005. “Barbara brings an exceptional track record in Honeywell operational and business management,” said Vance Tang, vice president and general manager of Honeywell’s Building Control Systems, the division in which Alerton and Novar Controls reside. “Her broad leadership and general management experience will translate well into this new opportunity.” “She is an ideal conduit as Alerton, Novar and Honeywell exchange best practices,” said Tim Holmes, marketing director for Alerton and Novar Controls. “With her leadership, our business will continue to grow and improve to better serve building owners, end users and our dealer partners.” Popoli has also worked in Honeywell’s supply chain, logistics and corporate audit areas. She spent six years with United Parcel Service in a number of logistics and operations roles before joining Honeywell. Popoli holds a Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from GMI, and has completed Black Belt certification in the Six Sigma Leadership program.
