For Immediate Release:Alerton’s BACnet-based Microview for BACtalk Offers Sleek, Economical Building Solution for Small, Medium Size BuildingsRedmond, WA (April 11, 2007)—Building automation pioneer Alerton (www.alerton.com) today announced the debut of the Microview for BACtalk™, an integrated color touchscreen display and Web server ideal for managing the building automation system for heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) in small to medium buildings. The programmable Microview for BACtalk acts as a global controller without requiring additional integration-level devices to perform global control strategies. It supports BACnet communication on the MS/TP network for up to 32 BACnet devices, including Alerton’s VisualLogic® controllers and the T7350 thermostat. “When combined with Alerton’s VisualLogic controllers or the T7350 BACnet thermostat, the Microview creates a flexible, economic solution for buildings that don’t need an extensive system,” said Mark Behar, Alerton’s product manager. “It’s ideal for medical and dental offices, bank branches, libraries and other buildings of this size.” Besides HVAC, the Microview for BACtalk also manages functions such as lighting and irrigation. The sleek, compact design of the Microview for BACtalk incorporates a 5.7” QVGA color STN LCD with touchscreen display, which provides a user with straightforward, menu-driven displays without requiring operator workstation software or a PC; Web access through the Web browser displays the same data. The Microview for BACtalk offers programming capabilities—supporting zones, time, holiday and event schedules, trendlogs, and alarms—enabling facilities staff to customize their system for precise and comprehensive building control. Microview for BACtalk’s flash memory and Windows® CE .Net operating system are industry standards for familiar and seamless operation. It offers software-upgradeable firmware for complete programmability in the field, saving travel time and costs. One CompactFlash® slot and a USB port enables file transfer to and from the Microview for BACtalk as well as expanded trendlog capabilities, saving time, facilitating upgrades and increasing functionality. The Microview for BACtalk features an NEMA4 front panel, which meets the industry standard for ruggedness and durability in HVAC equipment. It is designed to be panel mounted and offers a fanless cooling system, keeping the Microview for BACtalk unobtrusive and quiet. The Microview for BACtalk is available now through authorized Alerton dealers. For product ordering and technical information, contact your local Alerton dealer or call Alerton at 425.869.8400.
