For Immediate Release:

Alerton’s New Envision for BACtalk v1.3A Saves Time and Improves Usability

Redmond, WA (October 24, 2005)—Building automation pioneer Alerton (www.alerton.com) today launched Envision for BACtalk v1.3A, the latest upgrade to the company’s industry leading building automation system software product. Envision for BACtalk saves time with new features such as email alarms, device communication failure alarms and override points scan/report. Users can specify units on data displays, increasing display flexibility and reducing development time. Envision for BACtalk also improves usability by enabling users to edit and send direct digital controls (DDC) programming to controllers from a client PC. The new release also offers enhanced support of the schedule user interface and MS/TP slave devices.

“The new features in this version of Envision for BACtalk continue our history of improving flexibility and simplifying building automation tasks,” said Mark Behar, Alerton product manager. “Users will save a great deal of time and effort in both day-to-day operations and long-term maintenance.”

Envision for BACtalk’s device communication failure alarm saves time and improves system diagnostics by immediately alerting users when a device is not communicating. Email alarms provide an additional notification method for users—alerting them to building issues through email and email devices such as cell phones and PDAs. The override points scan/report scans the system to quickly find equipment that has been manually changed and enables users to scan one or all system devices for overridden points.

Envision for BACtalk v1.3A also includes new device notification, which alerts users when new devices are connected to the system, and enables users to quickly add new devices without manually scanning and to add multiple devices at the same time. The trendlog change of value (COV) viewing feature reduces the time it takes to view logs by displaying data only when the logged value has changed. Enhancements to the schedule user interface saves time and improves usability by displaying schedules by schedule name and enabling users to view a list of all schedules at once.
