For Immediate Release:

New Features, Enhancements to Alerton’s Envision for BACtalk v2.0 System Save Time, Improve Productivity, and Support Legacy Equipment

Redmond, WA (August 24, 2006)—Building automation pioneer Alerton (www.alerton.com) today launched Envision for BACtalk v2.0, the latest upgrade to the company’s industry leading building automation system software. Updated features to Envision for BACtalk include file transfer capability, user-specific start displays and Network Address Translation (NAT) support. The Envision for BACtalk v2.0 system release includes updated versions of Envision for BACtalk software and WEBtalk software.

“This is a very comprehensive system release of our Envision for BACtalk software,” said Mark Behar, Alerton product manager. “The new features answer many of the requests from industry end users, including facilities and IT staff, for building automation software that’s easy to use, flexible, economical and, most of all, secure.”

Envision for BACtalk’s user-specific start displays, unique to each person, support limited-access users: For example, a lab operator’s start display can restrict his or her access to only the research area. Network Address Translation (NAT) enables a facilities manager or technician to connect to Envision for BACtalk installations using BACnet/IP on any broadband connection. The ability to connect remotely from behind a NAT router or firewall saves time and provides a faster, more efficient connection than dial-up.

WEBtalk serves Envision for BACtalk displays over a Web browser interface. New PDA support expands access to building system status and facilitates maintenance. The updated WEBtalk v2.1 also offers display enhancements, which provide compatibility with the latest Envision for BACtalk display features.
