For Immediate Release:Alerton Announces the BCM-HOTELRedmond, WA (July 2, 2004)—Building automation systems pioneer Alerton Inc. (www.alerton.com) today announced the launch of the BACtalk Control Module (BCM) HOTEL, a BACnet-compliant gateway for easy integration to hotel reservation and check-in systems. As part of an Alerton system, the BCM-HOTEL makes available rented or not-rented room information—for up to 10,000 rooms—so that the environment is either ready for guest arrival or inactive during vacancies. The BCM-HOTEL mounts to a 35mm DIN-rail and connects to other BCMs in series with a ribbon-cable, which simplifies hardware installation. Up to seven integration and control modules can be combined in series with a single power supply module, Alerton’s BCM-PWS. “The modular design of the BCM-HOTEL increases the operational efficiency of HVAC and other building equipment in hospitality applications,” said Kevin Caskey, Alerton’s vice president and general manager. “The modular controllers snap in for easy integration with existing building controls and then adapt or scale the building system as needed.” The BCM-HOTEL integrates with virtually any hotel reservation and check-in system, including Hotel Systems International (HIS) and Fidelio. The BCM-HOTEL joins Alerton’s previously released BCMs, including the BCM-ETH, which supports a single BACnet Ethernet and a single BACnet MS/TP network; the BCM-MS/TP, which supports a single BACnet MS/TP network; the BCM-MDM, which offers a pre-configured V.90/56K modem for alarm dial-out and remote operator workstation connectivity; and the BCM-MDBS, which connects Modbus devices to a BACnet system. The BCM-HOTEL is available now through authorized Alerton dealers. For product ordering and technical information, contact your local Alerton dealer or call Alerton at 425.869.8400.
