Alerton’s Generation 2 IBEX Ethernet Adapter is a Cost Effective Solution for High Speed Enterprise Networks

Redmond, WA (March 2, 2005)—Building automation pioneer Alerton (www.alerton.com) today debuted its Gen2 Ethernet Adapter, a compact, external unit that routes data between an Alerton local area network (LAN) and an Ethernet network so that IBEX operator workstations can use Ethernet. An IBEX system can use the existing enterprise Ethernet and IP networking infrastructure, or the Ethernet network can be dedicated to the IBEX system.

“The Gen 2 Ethernet Adapter provides IBEX systems with the high speed and flexibility that Ethernet systems offer,” said Mark Behar, product manager for the Gen2 Ethernet adapter. “Add that to the ability of an IBEX system to leverage the existing technology and the Gen 2 Ethernet Adapter is a truly cost effective solution that improves system operation.”

The Gen 2 Ethernet Adapter can be configured with a custom IP address and domain name system (DNS), or with a factory default IP address and DNS. It can also be shipped unconfigured for on-site setup to suit system needs.
